Editorial Policy

SeniorSite is an independent resource for older adults and the families who help them make decisions about care, health, benefits, and daily life. This page explains who writes our articles, how we review them, and the standards we hold every piece to.

Who writes our content

Our articles are written by experienced freelance writers who specialize in senior care, health, personal finance, education, and lifestyle. Each article carries a named byline so you can see who wrote it and read their background.

How we review articles

Every article is reviewed by the SeniorSite Editorial Team before it is published and again when it is updated. Editors check that claims are accurate, that sources are current, and that the writing is clear and genuinely useful. Articles that involve health, Medicare, benefits, or money receive extra scrutiny because getting those details right matters.

How we source information

For topics involving benefits, health, and money, we rely on primary and authoritative sources, including the Social Security Administration, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Medicare.gov, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Federal Trade Commission, and established nonprofit and academic organizations. Where a figure is an estimate or a projection rather than an official number, we say so.

Independence

Our editorial content is independent. We do not accept payment to place a business, product, or community favorably in an article, and advertising or partnerships never influence our recommendations or reviews.

Accuracy and corrections

We work to keep articles accurate and up to date, and we revise them as programs, prices, and rules change. If you spot something that looks wrong, email contact@seniorsite.org and a person will review it. This site provides general information and is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, or financial advice.
