Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care Nestled among the trees, Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care formerly known as The Scottish Home provides a lovely backdrop for you to lead a fulfilling and stress-free life. The five-acre campus is located in the North Riverside Forest Preserve, just a few miles west of downtown Chicago. For those who are interested in an Assisted Living-style space, we offer Sheltered Care, which includes all of the conveniences, services and amenities typically associated with Assisted Living communities, plus a nurse on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. At our legacy building, the Scottish Home, you can choose from two lifestyle options within Sheltered Care, depending on how much help you imagine or how many tasks you’d like assistance with. Those requiring less help can schedule assistance with daily tasks like bathing or medication management if and when they are needed. For those needing extra support, we also provide on-demand services like wellness checks, assistance with daily life activities and escorts to meals. Our flexible approach to assisted living allows many people to age in place longer. We thoughtfully designed and purpose-built Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care to feel and function as a true family home. It is designed with heart to be architecturally, operationally and philosophically innovative, embracing the concept of “smaller by design.” Home to just 10 people per household – all with private suites and full bathrooms – our small model allows us to tailor our care to each individual’s calendar and interests. Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care provides a calm, nurturing space where you are supported and assisted by a staff of Care Partners who receive specialized training to learn our core values and culture as well as the latest best-practice strategies in caring for, communicating with and supporting people living with memory loss.
