Catharine's Quality of Life Homes Catharine’s Quality of Life residential homes create a small family atmosphere in which our resident family community members don’t passively observe life – they actively live it. Our daily routine provides a familiar structure that offers comfort and security to each person and minimizes their anxiety and stress. Residents are involved in numerous small-group, daily happenings designed to meet their individualized needs and provide mental, physical and social stimulation. Our 2-3 daytime staff focuses on each of our resident’s remaining strengths and interacts with them in a plethora of family-oriented happenings. Thus we successfully implement our innovative “activity-based” Alzheimer’s care which enriches the quality of life of each of our members. We are different - With more staff per resident than any home or facility in Colorado, our 2-3 staff ensures that each of our residents receives ample individualized attention on a daily basis. Owner works in the homes on a daily basis, and for nine years provided the hands-on care for his mother and others who had Alzheimer’s Owner personally provides initial and on-going staff training in the myriad aspects of Alzheimer’s care; courses that he also teaches at the Alzheimer’s Learning Institute Owner serves on Alzheimer’s Association’s Education Committee, is a member of the Association’s Speakers Bureau, gives educational talks to area families and organizations and leads an Alzheimer’s family support group. What Makes Us Special One acre beautifully treed lot affords community members a peaceful and relaxing setting. One-half acre back yard allows community members to feed ducks in our lake, horses in adjacent pastures and geese and squirrels from the back door.
