Eastcastle Place has operated as a senior living community on Milwaukee's East Side for 135 years. The community includes independent living apartments, assisted living (through its Watertower Assisted Living section), and on-site health services as part of its Life Plan Community model, which means residents can access a continuum of care without relocating. The East Side location is near Downer Avenue shops and restaurants, and Lake Michigan is accessible by car.

Independent living residents choose from various apartment floor plans and can participate in activities including swimming, yoga, book clubs, educational seminars, musical events, art classes, and off-site outings. Downer Avenue is walkable from the community. Residents can also serve on committees that help shape community operations.

Assisted living at Watertower is available for those needing help with daily activities like bathing, dressing, and medication management while maintaining as much independence as possible. One- and two-bedroom apartments include private bathrooms with walk-in showers. The community offers spacious common areas with sunrooms and fireplaces on each floor. Monthly service fees are all-inclusive and cover three chef-prepared meals daily, utilities (except phone), cable television, Wi-Fi, weekly housekeeping and linen service, maintenance, 24-hour emergency response, and scheduled local transportation. Small pets are allowed. The kitchen accommodates low-cholesterol, diabetic, and sodium-free meal requests and sources produce locally and from an on-site garden.

Eastcastle also offers short-term respite care for caregivers and a transition program called One Step Closer to Home for those recovering from rehabilitation and not yet ready to return home. Both programs provide professional care in furnished one-bedroom apartments for stays ranging from three days to three months. There are no entrance or endowment fees for assisted living.
