Monticello Senior

Located in the Monticello Community Center in Monticello, Minnesota, you will find the Monticello Senior Center. It is a community focal point that provides services that cater to older adults and their families. The center offers a multitude of programs to area residents.

We strive to provide a way for elderly adults to keep active and social while enjoying themselves and learning along the way. Our entertainment programs give seniors the opportunity to stay active in the community, motivated, and enjoy life. Social events and performances such as ice cream socials and square dancing performances are the types of activities being enjoyed regularly.

We have events to honor elderly members of our community with dinner and dancing. There are also events geared towards enjoying time with your family such as bring your grandchildren to the movie night. Educational programs are also offered.

Stepping On is a program that helps seniors learn fall prevention techniques including balance training and choosing the correct footwear. It teaches them to make their homes safer and understand contributing factors that lead to falls. Defensive driving, gardening, and a plethora of other educational programs are available to partake in.

Support groups for people experiencing specific issues such as Parkinson's or memory loss are encouraged. Assistance with confusing matters such as insurance and finances are available as well. In addition to these, there are planned outings and trips, tournaments, and opportunities to sell your crafts.
