"My parents moved here almost 5 years ago, choosing 1K over all other possible senior living facilities because: 1) you can own your unit, meaning you can will it to your children, you have equity in the unit; 2) the residents are a nice mix of races, ages, and interests; 3) there are on-going programs for culture, music, lectures, entertainment and medical visits; 4) food is really good, including fresh fish and fresh fruit every day (and the fish is cooked to your order); staff are friendly, warm and pleasant; and (5) nursing floor is in the building!!! so if one spouse needs help in getting well, the other spouse can visit all they want, no need to go to a different place.
