About Piper Shores
Piper Shores is a nonprofit lifecare retirement community in Yarmouth, Maine, near Portland. It is the only CARF/CCAC-accredited retirement community in Maine. The community offers independent living apartments and cottages on a coastal campus.
As a lifecale community, Piper Shores combines independent living with guaranteed access to onsite assisted living and skilled nursing care if health needs change. Residents pay a monthly fee that remains the same regardless of care level, plus an entrance fee for the independent living unit—90% of which is refundable to the resident's estate or to the resident if they move out. This refund structure differs from most other Maine retirement communities, where entrance fees are typically non-refundable or partially refundable.
It offers assisted living communities, heritage woods, independent living facilities, brookdale senior living, memory care units, atria senior living, continuing care retirement communities, and the springs living. Residents have access to 30 listed amenities and services spanning community activities, dining options, fitness center, library, outdoor spaces, pet-friendly services, swimming pool, technology center, transportation services, and wellness spa.
