Prairie Vista Village

Prairie Vista Village is a month-to-month continuing care retirement community in Altoona offering four levels: independent living apartments, assisted living apartments, short-term rehabilitation, and long-term nursing care. There is no entrance fee or endowment required. Independent living apartments come in one- or two-bedroom floor plans with full kitchens, in-unit washer/dryer, walk-in closets, and optional garage units.

Monthly rent includes two meals daily, weekly housekeeping, internet, cable, scheduled transportation, a 24-hour emergency call system, and utilities except telephone. Assisted living residents receive the same base services plus medication management, help with bathing and dressing as needed, three meals daily with snacks, and transportation to medical appointments within 10 miles. Short-term rehabilitation and long-term care are available on-site with 24-hour nursing coverage and physical, occupational, and speech therapy.

Most long-term care rooms are private with en-suite bathrooms. Community amenities include a fitness center, library, chapel, dining rooms, courtyard and walking paths, game area, craft room, beauty and barber shop, banking center, pet-friendly policy, and storage units. Housekeeping and maintenance are included, and residents can access scheduled transportation based on their care level.
