Sunshine Assisted Living operates five small-home communities across Broward County (Pembroke Pines, Coral Springs, and Parkland) with a maximum of six residents per location. Each home has four private rooms and two semi-private beds, furnished with ample closet space that residents can personalize. The single-floor layout includes handicap-accessible walk-in showers with grab bars, wheelchair ramps, and customized senior tubs at some locations.

Common areas include a family room, dining areas, and outdoor patios with lawns; some locations have pools. All homes are state-licensed assisted living facilities. Sunshine's model is built around continuity of care.

Rather than transferring residents when care needs increase, the homes accommodate progression from semi-independent living through hospice-level care, with staffing adjusted to provide one-on-one assistance with activities of daily living. This approach is marketed as particularly suitable for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease. The small group setting means residents typically interact with the same staff members regularly.

Sunshine accepts Medicaid long-term care benefits for qualifying residents and works with the Veterans Administration. All locations meet Florida's hurricane preparedness standards, with accordion shutters, backup generators at some sites, emergency water and food supplies maintained for three days, three-day medication reserves, and fire suppression systems. Staff complete emergency preparedness training and fire drills every two months.
