The Bee Hive Assisted Living - Ft. Morgan I & Ii

The Bee Hive Assisted Living operates two homes in Fort Morgan, each housing about ten residents. The homes provide 24-hour assistance with daily activities—medication reminders, meals, laundry, bathing, and personal care—for seniors who no longer need skilled nursing but want to remain as independent as possible.

Each private bedroom has a half bath with a raised toilet (18 inches, 4 inches higher than standard). Rooms lock for privacy and can be furnished by the resident or with provided basics. Linens are changed weekly or more often as needed. Basic cable is included; residents arrange and pay for phone service and premium channels separately.

Meals are served family-style at set times: breakfast 7:30–8:00 a.m., lunch around noon, and dinner 5:30–6:00 p.m. The staff will accommodate physician-ordered diets (low-salt, low-sugar, restricted calorie) within the constraints of shared meal preparation. Common areas—living room, dining room, kitchen—are accessible at all times. The homes have handrails throughout, a 24-hour alarm system on exterior doors, a call system in each room, and either a walk-in shower or tub with assistance available. Laundry facilities are available to residents; dry cleaning pickup and delivery can be arranged at the resident's expense.

Staff are trained and certified to distribute medications according to doctor's orders but do not administer injections. Home health agencies and physical therapists may visit to provide prescribed services. An activity calendar includes exercises, crafts, bingo, movies, and outings via the county's express van. Family visits are encouraged from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. There is no resident storage, and outdoor parking is limited; the facility recommends families keep residents' vehicles at home and bring them as needed. Smoking is not permitted indoors but is allowed outdoors. The facility complies with HIPAA privacy regulations.
