About The Highlands At Wyomissing
The Highlands at Wyomissing opened in 1989 as a joint venture between The Lutheran Home at Topton and The Reading Hospital; Reading Hospital became the sole operator in 2009. The community sits on 113 acres adjacent to Wyomissing Parkway and serves residents from Berks County and beyond. It offers 250 apartment units in various sizes, 38 two- and three-bedroom cottages, and the Farmstead.
On-site amenities include a fitness center, heated indoor pool, computer center, library, art studio, billiards room, woodworking shop, and an outdoor putting green. The community provides dining, housekeeping, maintenance, banking, transportation, and educational programs. Long-term care is available through an 80-bed nursing facility and a 70-unit personal care residence with lounge, fireplace, and indoor greenhouse.
Most residents enter through a lifetime care agreement; those needing personal care can move directly to a personal care apartment with no entrance fee. A refundable deposit reserves a place on the waitlist for future residents, who gain access to community programs and amenities before moving in. Respite apartments are available for short-term stays when visiting seniors need temporary care.
It offers sunset gardens, maplewood senior living, golden years residence, oakridge retirement community, silver creek estates, harmony haven, cedar grove apartments, the willows at westfield, riverbend senior living, and meadowlark place. They do not call us with updates and the social worker doesn\u2019t return calls.

The facility is very well kept and has amazing landscape surrounding the whole facility.
