The Paragon of Madisonville is a locally owned assisted living and supported independent living community. Mark Lee, the president, was instrumental in drafting Kentucky's assisted living statute (effective 2000) and House Bill 444, which expanded the scope of services permitted in assisted living facilities; the bill passed both chambers and was signed into law in 2011. Lee also serves on the board of the Kentucky Assisted Living Facilities Association.
The Paragon's staff receive training beyond state requirements, and the community emphasizes long-term employee retention. Assisted living suites include private bathrooms with safety features, kitchenettes, wall thermostats, utilities, and cable TV. The community offers scheduled transportation, on-site beauty and barber services, weekly housecleaning, social and spiritual programs, and a library, sunroom, and interior courtyard.
Pets are welcome. Supported independent living duplexes are one-story, 1,050-square-foot units with two bedrooms, one bathroom, full kitchens, and washer-dryer hookups. Duplex rent includes one meal per day, interior and exterior maintenance, yard care, and all building insurance.
Duplex residents also have access to the main community's amenities and services.
