About
Village Care Homes- Stephen F Austin Community in Conroe villagecarehomes.Com It takes a village. Does that phrase ring a bell? We can all relate to the sense of relief that comes when our “village” of friends and family steps in to help. Life comes full-circle and as we get older, we still need the support of a village with aging loved ones. Having a loved one who needs accountability or assistance with daily activities can be physically and emotionally challenging. Village Care Homes was created to provide the village of care for families. Village Care Homes is family-owned and operated. Our vision extends from our personal experience caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's. When it became too difficult for our family to care for Mom in our home, we started searching for small assisted living communities. To our surprise, we found communities with 6-16 community members when we thought the smallest we would find would be 50 or more community members. Seeing the home-like space pulled at our heartstrings. We knew this would be the best fit for Mom and we wanted to have more communities like that available to families. With our background in fitness and wellness and passion for seniors, Village Care Homes Assisted Living was born. Mom is currently a resident at our Silver Leaf memory care community in Spring where she receives loving care and support. The more we become familiar with the assisted living industry the more we see the need for personalized care. We’ve grown Village Care Homes to help members, families and also build careers for our caregivers. We believe your loved one deserves the best care possible - the care that preserves, comforts and improves their quality of life. Care Team We believe in creating careers for our caregivers. The top compliment we receive from our families is how amazing our Care Team is! Our Caregivers provide 24/7 care. They do an excellent job of preserving independence yet recognizing when they require to be the eyes, ears and hands for our members. Daily, they give: Assistance with toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming and meals. Cleaning and laundry service. Medication management under training and delegation of our RN. Carefully planned home-cooked meals; healthy snack options? Creating a warm, welcoming and engaging environment Health Providers We want to take the stress off of families when it comes to their loved one's care. We have a network of medical providers (doctors, dentists, podiatrists, therapists) who can visit the home for appointments. No more trying to figure out how to get Mom or Dad to an appointment. ?Home Health and Hospice come to our communities so Residents have access to therapists, nurses & chaplains without leaving the community. Physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy can all be done at our communities. Social Fun Our Social Director and team of activities coordinators and volunteers develop and implement individualized and group happenings daily that improve the quality of life for our Residents. We also enjoy an outing each month for lunch, shopping and community events. We love to have fun! Nourishing the Mind, Soul & Body Peace of mind with 24/7 care - one of the most important benefits of assisted living care. Each day, we engage community members with activities that promote mental acuities such as puzzles, Bible study, trivia, board games, art and music. We have a dedicated team of happenings coordinators who implement these activities each day at each community. We also celebrate! We don't shy away from birthdays or holidays! A Hair Stylist visits once a month to provide haircuts, shampoo and style. What Makes Us Special Living in a small assisted living community ensures more personalized care and provides a comfortable, familiar home atmosphere. Many of our community members come from larger communities because we have a high caretaker to Resident ratio and Residents in turn receive more care and attention.
