Dogwood Home is a new six-resident assisted living and memory care community in Shelton, Connecticut, specializing in care for people with dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Located on a private acre in Fairfield County, the single-story facility includes six private bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, each with an adjustable bed and roll-in shower; a whirlpool tub; common areas including a den, dining room, and living room; an on-site salon; and a landscaped backyard deck. All-inclusive rates cover meals, cleaning, laundry, activities, and 24-hour care including assistance with bathing, dressing, medication management, eating, and personal hygiene.
The community is staffed by a licensed health care agency. Staff provide daily activities, exercise, and social interaction. Residents receive individualized care plans developed with family and health practitioners.
The facility has 24-hour security with magnetic locks on doors throughout the home, CCTV monitoring, a fire alarm system with sprinklers, and a backup generator. Rates are fixed for the duration of residency. Family members may visit anytime and are welcome to join residents for meals. Respite care is available.
