About
Oak Hill Terrace At every Laureate Group community, expect to find a choice of apartment styles and sizes in both independent and assisted living, numerous common spaces, and attractive grounds. But that’s just the beginning. Look beyond the real estate to find the true heart of our communities. Oak Hill Terrace in Waukesha is filled with opportunities to stay involved. Fireside chats in the lobby about current events are popular and newcomers are always welcome. You’ll find neighbors who practice chair yoga, play Wii bowling, or take part in a regular Drum Circle. And a favorite option is the ongoing program on brain fitness. Check the calendar for the Monday night movie, and sign up for one of the shopping trips. There is always something to do, and someone to do it with. Oak Hill Terrace is a community of people dedicated to helping you stay healthy, active and engaged so you can truly enjoy this time of life. Everyone who works here has one thing in common: an appreciation and respect for older adults. You’ll see it in the friendly smiles, the genuine interest in stories from the past and the way our staff relates to everyone who lives here. The activities offered at Oak Hill Terrace match the diverse make-up of those who live here. People at Oak Hill Terrace are as active as they want to be. Every month there is a full calendar of social and educational opportunities offered to residents, including specialized calendars for our programs serving the physically frail and those with dementia. In our communities, seniors do not merely reside. They thrive. That’s because ensuring their good health and helping them stay active and engaged isn’t merely part of a mission statement that hangs on a wall, it’s part of our daily routine. And our full-time Lifestyle Director monitors the number and types of programs at Oak Hill Terrace monthly to make sure that the expected balance of social, wellness, creative, educational and spiritual activities are scheduled. Here are a just a few examples of Oak Hill Terrace activities: Social Plan to stop at Monday Night at the Movies, the monthly birthday party or attend a cooking demonstration (and eat or drink the results)! You’ll find a monthly book exchange with the Waukesha librarian who brings the latest offerings. And you’ll want to check the calendar to see what shopping trips are coming up. You’ll find lots of opportunities to socialize every single day. Health & Wellness Start the day with exercise, six days a week. Or try Tai Chi, Drums Alive, or Chair Dancing. Prefer to exercise in the afternoon? Join the Fitness Club or build strength and endurance with Wii bowling. Get your blood pressure checked at a scheduled wellness clinic. And enjoy healthy and tasty dining daily, with choices at every meal, prepared onsite by highly trained chefs. Meal plan is not mandatory. We offer tangible ways to live healthier. Creative and Educational Join people who participate in a pen pal program or volunteer in a reading program at a nearby school. Try a special class like beer making, floral arranging, acrylic painting or stained glass. Attend our monthly Simple Science program and see experiments in action! Many people living at Oak Hill Terrace have tried new creative hobbies they just never seemed to have time to try before. It’s easy to stay active. Spiritual Attend weekly Catholic mass and communion, or a weekly Protestant service, all held on-site at Oak Hill Terrace. Join others for rosary hour held weekly, led by our generous community volunteers, or music ministry, that includes hymns and readings. Consider attending an activity offered by one of our volunteer community churches. There are many opportunities to remain spiritually nourished. Oak Hill Terrace is open to all faiths.
